Soul Boat Weekender Terry Jones Biography

TJ aka Terry Jones, has been spinning SOUL (with a capital S) to the UK SOULBOYS & GIRLS for 38 years now, having his own weekly London residency "The Norfolk Village" for an incredible 21 of those. It's demise left a major void in the London SOUL scene when it was wound up in 1996, after the venue was sold.  2003 saw the release of a tribute album to the venue, compiled by Terry himself.  The successful collection was released through Expansion Records under the guise of SOUL Togetherness presents Village SOUL.  The album is very much a ‘must have’ for all SOUL fans, expect a 2nd volume to drop shortly.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Terry continues to build his reputation around the UK pleasing the crowds with his appearances, which include the Southport, Togetherness, Hilton and several other top weekenders, as well as hugely successful visits to Scotland. Spreading his wings further a field as well, Terry has also made many successful visits to Europe, playing to enthusiastic crowds in many countries including Sweden, Italy, Germany & Austria, Spain and France, and this year in September, he will be hosting his own SOUL weekend in the wonderful Italian countryside in Tuscany. 

Under the banner of Village Soul Italia, expect this to be a regular must-do date in the European calendar. 

A new ‘home’ for Village SOUL has also evolved in the North East heartland in Sunderland.  With October being the 2nd anniversary, the gig has been a huge success and looks like continuing to be for a while yet.

Now one of the most hard working and in-demand jocks on the SOUL circuit, Terry is probably "as popular away from home as he is in London", he says with a twinkle in his eyes.
